Nine athletes were representing Seychelles during the 2000 Sydney Olympic and were competing in 5 sports; Athletics, Judo, Sailing, Swimming and Weightlifting. The team was accompanied by 14 officials. The Sydney 2000 flag bearer was swimmer Benjamin Lo-Pinto.
Athletics
Joanna Houareau: Houareau failed to trouble her Seychelles 100m record of 11.89 seconds when she clocked 12.01 in the first round heat. She was placed sixth in heat number seven. She finished 57th out of 84 runners overall.
Nelson Lucas: Lucas failed to dip below the 11-second mark, clocking 11.15 seconds over the 100m run in heat 11. Lucas, however, beat five other sprinters out of the 11 heats in total.
Judo
Francis Labrosse: Labrosse was denied progression as he lasted exactly 18 seconds on the mat. The extra-light (60 kg) Seychellois, who was competing as an invitee, lost a quick fight by ippon to Omar Rebahi of Algeria.
Sailing
Allan Julie: One of the three Seychellois to qualify for the Olympic Games, Julie finished 28th overall out of 43 sailors with 203 points after 11 races in the Open Single-Handed dinghy Laser. Julie, 23 at the time, was 19th in race 1, 21st in race 2, 44th in race 3, 31st in race 4, 14th in race 5, 26th in race 6, 38th in race 7, 10th in race 8, 22nd in race 9, 28th in race 10 and 32nd in race 11.
Jonathan Barbe: In the Mistral Windsurfing, Barbe was 35th out of 36th windsurfers after accumulating 293 points. This was his second Olympic appearance.
Endra Ha-Tiff: In the Mistral Windsurfing, Ha-Tiff was ranked 29th out of as many sailboarders with 256 points.
Swimming
Benjamin Lo-Pinto: In the 100m backstroke, the Olympic Games qualifier Lo-Pinto bowed out at the first hurdle in Sydney after clocking 58.90 seconds in the first heat. He finished second in his heat, but could not qualify for the semi-finals as only swimmers with the 16 best times in the seven heats made it to the next round.
Kenny Roberts: Roberts, who qualified for the Olympic Games, failed to qualify for the semifinals after finishing seventh out of eight competitors in his heat, clocking 53.40 seconds to be ranked 61st out of 74 swimmers.
Weightlifting
Sophia Vandagne: Competing in the 58-kg division after receiving an invitation to participate in the Olympics, Vandagne broke her snatch record with a best lift of 72.5kg. She went on to heave 87.5kg in the clean and jerk. Her total of 160kg placed her 13th out of 15 competitors.
