Silver for Raforme and Legras in 1998
The 16th Edition of the Commonwealth Games was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 1998 (10-20 September), the heavyweight Roland Raforme and light welterweight Jerry Legras settled for a silver medal each.
Their hopes of winning Seychelles its first ever boxing gold medal at these games were dashed by Canadian opponents.

In the 91 Kg final, Raforme fell 13-21 to Simmons who never had the Seychellois fighter in trouble but only that this is power proved too much for the slightly built Raforme, whereas the lighter welterweight Jerry Legras was stopped by Canadian Mike Strange in the final on an 8-16 score.
With the two silver medals, Seychelles finished in the 26th place on the medals table and eighth overall in Boxing.
